Midday Musings - Summer Program

Take a Break with Midday Musings – A New Summer Series from the ÀÖÓ¯VI Museums!

This summer, the ÀÖÓ¯VI Museums is excited to launch Midday Musings—a new program series designed to help faculty, staff, and students relax, connect, and get creative.

Join us every other Wednesday in July and August from 12:00–1:00 p.m. for engaging sessions that offer a refreshing midday break. Each session features a unique activity inspired by the museum collections on campus, giving you a chance to unwind, spark your creativity, and discover something new.

Registration is required for each session. Capacity will differ based on the session. Any registrants placed on a waitlist will be contacted if a spot becomes available.

Wednesday, July 9, 2025 | Public Art Walk and Frottage Activity

12:00 pm - 1:00 pm
Location: Meet outside the main entrance to University Commons

Step outside and take a break with the Museums programming team for a guided walk around campus, exploring highlights of the public art in the ÀÖÓ¯VI Museums Art Collection.

Along the way, draw inspiration from both natural and manmade elements as you create your own frottage artwork. At each stop, we’ll take rubbings of interesting textures—tree bark, stone, leaves, and more. Layer your rubbings or collage them together to craft a one-of-a-kind piece that reflects your personal experience of the campus landscape.

All supplies provided. Maximum 20 participants.
