About Us

CIUS’s Research Program on Religion and Culture is devoted to the study of all aspects of the religious experience of Ukrainians in Ukraine and in the Ukrainian diaspora (especially in Canada), from the history and politics of religion to sacral art, architecture, and music.

Religion and War in Ukraine

This project takes stock of the profound impact of war on religious life in Ukraine since the invasion and launches an international conversation about the role the range of Ukrainian religious groups.

Destroyed Temples of Ukraine

In partnership with the Maidan Museum/National Museum of the Revolution of Dignity in Kyiv, the Canadian Institute of Ukrainian Studies at the ӯVI was honoured to host a travelling photo exhibit depicting the damage and destruction wreaked upon various places of worship in Ukraine as a result of the Russian Federation's war against Ukraine.
